Diego Costa: Chelsea fans go into MELTDOWN over Atletico Madrid 'pest'

The Spain international started against Juventus in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League clash.

And Costa was booked in the eighth minute in Madrid meaning he will miss the second leg in Turin.

The Atletico star was then lucky not to be sent off for a dive which VAR overruled.

But Chelsea fans were still impressed with Costa for putting in a typically controversial display.

One said: “It’s very painful watching Diego Costa hustle for Athleti..it should be be us @ChelseaFC #AtletiJuve.”

Another added: “I miss Diego Costa Chelsea.”

“I miss Diego Costa at Chelsea, what an absolute pest to he is against defenders,” a third explained.

And a fourth said: “I miss Diego Costa at Chelsea…”

Costa was booked early for not retreating in the wall.

And the 30-year-old was lucky to stay on after appearing to dive to try and win a penalty.

Chelsea fans still want the striker back though with Maurizio Sarri under severe pressure.

Gonzalo Higuain and Olivier Giroud are their currnet options up front.

Costa has been in decent form this season, netting four times in just 16 appearances.

Atletico will be desperate for the striker to keep his head and stay on the pitch against Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

The other Champions League match tonight sees Premier League champions Manchester City taking on Schalke.
