Avengers Endgame: Will Avengers Endgame be Gwyneth Paltrow's LAST as Pepper Potts?

Avengers: Endgame is six weeks from its debut in cinemas in the UK and USA. But amidst the wait for the upcoming film, fans are filling the void with theories and speculation. Each new piece of information has led to a host of new prophecies about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Will Avengers Endgame be Gwyneth Paltrow’s last as Pepper Potts?

Yes, and the news comes from none other than Gwyneth Paltrow herself.

Paltrow has confirmed the final chapter of Phase Three will be her swansong as Pepper Potts.

Speaking to Variety, Paltrow said: “I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point.

“I feel very lucky that I did it because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with Jon Favreau.

“It was such a wonderful experience making the first Iron Man and then to watch how important it has become to fans.

“I feel honoured to be a part of something that people are so passionate about.”

But that doesn’t mean it’s the last you’ll ever see of Paltrow’s Pepper Potts.

She added: “Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?’ I will always be there if they need me.”

Paltrow’s future is not dim, despite her leaving the powerhouse that is Marvel.

Netflix is Netflix is developing a Goop-centered talk show series.

According to Variety, the series of 30-minute episodes will be hosted by Paltrow and chief content officer Elise Loehnen.

“They will utilize experts, doctors, and researchers to examine issues relating to physical and spiritual wellness.”

Paltrow’s career has been long and storied, with the actress appearing in more than 40 films.

But her brand Goop has not been as universally lauded as many of her films.

The brand has a reputation for promoting “wellness” practices without much, if any, research-based results.

In 2017, a media watchdog group filed a formal complaint with more than 50 examples of the company making “deceptive health and disease-treatment claims to promote products in violation of the law.”

Following the complaint, in 2018 Goop hired its first fact-checker – though Paltrow’s response to this was not one of whole-hearted support.

Regardless, the brand is prospering and Goop is developing standalone podcasts.

The podcasts will be developed by Jean Godfrey-June, Goop’s in-house beauty expert.

It will also include a food program hosted by an award-winning chef, and a Goop book club featuring author interviews and reviews.

So though you won’t see Paltrow as Pepper anymore, you can see her on Netflix. If you want.

Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
