The Good Morning Britain host uploaded a picture on Instagram of the statue in Florida, which replicates the famous WWII photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt.
The snapshot showed US sailor George Mendonsa kissing stranger, dental nurse Greta Friedman, in Times Square, New York, to celebrate victory over Japan on August 14, 1945.
Piers Morgan, 53, expressed his outrage over the defaced statute which had the words “#MeToo” sprayed on it in red.
The journalist said: “What the f**k is wrong with people,” as he slammed the “PC-crazed world”.
Alongside the snap, Piers wrote: “On Sunday, George Mendonsa, the US sailor who kissed dental nurse Greta Friedman in Times Square on VJ-Day in that iconic end-of-WWII photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt, died.
“Yesterday, the ‘Unconditional Surrender’ statue in Florida depicting the photo was defaced with the words #MeToo.”
He continued: “What the f**k is wrong with people? This is where our PC-crazed world is heading – to a place where war heroes are besmirched by virtue-signalling tossers, and where innocent joyful gestures are condemned as crimes. It’s sickening. RIP George, and thank you for your service.”
George had served in the Pacific and was on home leave when the picture was taken by Alfred.
The sailor had been on a date with another women when he heard the war was over.
His date, Rita Petry, is seen in the background of the photo and went on to become his wife.
Speaking about the moment George kissed a stranger in the street, she told CBS: “Either I was dopey or something, but it didn’t bother me!”
Rita revealed he would sometimes repeat the performance and said: “It’ll come up that he’s ‘The Kissing Sailor’. So the kissing sailor has to think he has to kiss everybody. So he does!”
Piers spoke out on another issue yesterday as he told ISIS bride Shamima Begum to go “f**k herself” and to “rot in hell” after she said she wanted to return back to the UK.
Shamima, who has now lost her British citizenship, left her home in Bethnal Green, London in 2015 to move to Syria.
Piers said Shamima, and her US counterpart Hoda Methana who also fled for Syria, deserved to stay where they were as they had married the “world’s worst terrorists”.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Piers said: “They have sex with them, they breed with them, they cook for them, they clean for them, they love them and they worship them.
“And while they’re doing all this, their husbands are busy raping, torturing, stoning, beheading and murdering people.
“Now, predictably, they both want to return to the safety of their original countries and live at OUR tax-payer expense.
“To which I say, and excuse my language here but sometimes it’s entirely appropriate: Go f**k yourselves.”
