Former Strictly Come Dancing finalist Gemma Atkinson, 34, gave her followers an update about her beloved pooch’s operation after vets discovered he had damaged his right ligament. Within the lengthy clip, she told her fans Norman had been playing with another dog before he “yelped” in pain. Gemma added that due to her pregnancy, she was unable to pick him up and comfort him. She said: “I felt horrendous because I was on my own with him and because I’m pregnant I couldn’t pick him up.
“He was leaning on my feet for me to comfort him and I couldn’t.”
She then explained Norman had an X-ray which revealed his right ligament had gone.
Gemma summarised the situation in her caption, writing: “Here we go again.
“Thank God for my mum and peter being retired and living 2 minutes away!
“Another operation almost 8 months after his left cruciate ligament went, his right one has gone.
“I remember loads of you telling me it was the case with your dogs so I was kinda waiting for it.
“I’m just sad that I can’t pick him up for snuggles or carry him upstairs to sleep with me in the evening.”
She added she was bringing her mattress down from her bedroom so the stairs “won’t be an issue”.
She finished her post thanking emergency vets for their help.
Meanwhile, Gemma revealed she is pregnant with her first child with Gorka on Instagram last month.
The radio host announced the news by placing signs on Norman and her other dog Ollie, referring to them as “big brothers”.
She wrote: “And what Amazing big brothers they will be!
“Myself & Gorks are beyond excited and happy and feel incredibly blessed to be meeting our new family member later this year.
“Baby Marquez!!! We love you loads already @gorka_marquez.”
The pair met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 in which she danced with Aljaž Škorjanec and Gorka performed with Alexandra Burke.
They confirmed their relationship in a loved-up post to mark Valentine’s Day.
