Fortnite update TODAY: Patch notes news as Epic Games release new changes

Epic Games has released a new Fortnite update for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mobile.

The development team has revealed that while the Nintendo Switch is receiving the same patch today, it will be arriving a little later than other platforms.

When it comes to the official patch notes for the new update, it seems unlikely that we will receive a long list.

Epic Games has already confirmed that today’s Fortnite update is client-based and will be focused on just a few areas of the game.

So don’t expect any new content to be announced in the coming hours.

The good news is that the new Fortnite update does not require any downtime, with no scheduled maintenance planned today.

Here’s more from Epic Games, who write: “We have released a client update that contains a few stability/bug fixes. No downtime, but you will need to download the update.

“Switch players will receive this update shortly after other platforms.”

Bugfixes confirmed for today’s Fortnite update:

  • Xbox players being unable to use mouse and keyboard.
  • Creative performance and stability

While today’s update only contains bug fixes, it appears another is being primed that could include some much more exciting stuff.

It has now been confirmed that the Driftboard will be released as part of a new LTM event.

A new in-game message confirms as much, teasing: “Put your own spin on the game with the new limited time Driftboard!”

Data miners found references to the new limited time mode which should be going live later this week.

The description reads: “Land near a Red Supply Drop, grab a Driftboard and some weapons, meet up with your team and race to eliminate the enemies. Last team standing wins!”

More is expected to be announced by Epic Games in the coming days.
