Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt to kill Shona Ramsey's son Clayton Hibbs?

Clayton (played by Callum Harrison) was responsible for the murder of David’s (Jack P. Shepherd) wife Kylie (Paula Lane) and so the pair have a fraught history on the ITV soap.

The fact that David is with Clayton’s mother Shona (Julia Goulding) only complicates things further and David may be about to take shocking action.

Clayton’s dad Dane (Simon Naylor) has died of an overdose and so the jailbird will be out on compassionate leave for the funeral on Coronation Street.

However, he is set to do a runner after the funeral to avoid going back to prison and David is incensed.

David threatens to kill Clayton, and now Shona star Julia has revealed she believes he means business.

“David was planning to kill himself and Clayton at Kylie’s murder trial, so she knows exactly what he’s capable of,” she told TV Times.

“They’re the two most important people in her life, but they’re also probably the two most dangerous people in her life.”

Julia also touched upon whether Shona and David could come back from the chaos Clayton causes between them.

She explained: “I think each time Clayton rears his ugly head, eventually it makes them stronger. But we don’t know how long that can keep happening.

“It could be like when you bend a piece of wood till it snaps.

“Or it could be that every time Clayton comes in, the wood is waxed, so it’s more bendable and therefore won’t snap.”

Clayton will escape with his old pal Macca (Gareth Berliner) on hand to help with his going on the run.

The villain was sentenced to 15 years for Kylie’s murder, which took place in 2016.

He stabbed Kylie to death after starting a fight with Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) at the kebab shop.

Kylie rushed over to intervene and ended up getting stabbed before dying in David’s arms.

In recent scenes, Clayton asked his mum to smuggle drugs into prison after pressure was being piled on him by fellow inmates.

However, Shona and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) devised a plan to catch those involved on the outside in the act.

But it made things worse for Clayton who got a vicious beating from his tormentors.

Although, Shona didn’t tell David that she’d interfered, and David was enraged when he found out. Can their relationship survive this latest test?

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
