Yellowstone volcano is about to BLOW and government won’t tell us – bizarre claim revealed

The out-there theory was put forward on Reddit by one user who believe the US Government is refusing to tell the world about an impending eruption at the supervolcano. Reddit user oct29th1929 made the claim, saying that the amount of times Yellowstone is in the news, coupled with seismic activity in the Wyoming national park, where the volcano is situated, makes for scary reading. The user posted on Reddit: “The scientists say that even though that the volcano is overdue, it probably won’t erupt in our lifetime.

“Even if it were to erupt, we should have up to two months of advanced warning to evacuate everyone in the ‘kill zone’.

“But instead of warning everyone two months in advance. What if the scientists don’t? What if the government gives no warning of the eruption, and just deals with the aftermath after it blows?

“The government will not warn the people of the eruption, because it will logistically easier to handle the smaller size of survivors.”

Other people on Reddit agreed with the sentiment, with one person writing: “Let’s be real, it would cost the government significantly less money to just scrape up the dead bodies after the fact as opposed to evacuate a bunch of middle class nobodies. They don’t give a f*** about us.”

However, others opposed the theory, saying logistically it does not stack up.

One user wrote: “Individual scientists would likely sound the alarm – the data is hard to contain from independent researchers and it’s not compartmentalised – there isn’t a ton of independent pieces that need to be put together in order to see the seismic warning signs.

“I think it would be leaked prior to the event if your hypothesis is correct.”

Another added: “The economy would tank. The ramifications of the volcano erupting are global.”

If the Wyoming volcano were to erupt an estimated 87,000 people would be killed immediately and two-thirds of the USA would immediately be made uninhabitable.

The large spew of ash into the atmosphere would block out sunlight and directly affect life beneath it creating a “nuclear winter”.

The massive eruption could be a staggering 6,000 times as powerful as the one from Washington’s Mount St Helens in 1980 which killed 57 people and deposited ash in 11 different states and five Canadian provinces.

If the volcano explodes, a climate shift would ensue as the volcano would spew massive amounts of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere, which can form a sulphur aerosol that reflects and absorbs sunlight.
