Anticipation and expectation keep building as Disney and Lucasfilm hold back the first footage and the official title. Yesterday, JJ Abrams and various stars and filmmakers all tweeted their emotional responses to the final days of filming. Surely something will be released any day now? ThE latest teaser has just gone viral with a provocative tagline and even more provocative use of Anakin. They certainly know how to ramp up the excitement.
The new Star Wars post shows both Hayden Christensen’s young Anakin Skywalker and the younger incarnations of Luke and Han Solo.
The clip is tagged: “The calm before the galactic storm.” Famous last words, since even a teaser like this ignites another feverish round of speculation, mixed with a mounting frustration and impatience.
Once again, this raises hopes that the saga will end with all the Skywalkers – Luke, Leia, Ben/Kylo and Anakin – on screen. Will some, or all of them, be shown as Force ghosts?

There have been repeated leaks and reports claiming Hayden Christensen will make a final appearance. The most popular ones all agree on some sort of Force Ghost vision, most likely to his troubled grandson Ben Solo, aka Kylo Ren.
Alternately, there could be some sort of group ghost benediction rather like the final scene of The Return of the Jedi. This raises the sad thought Kylo Ren might die but be redeemed in doing so, exactly like Darth Vader.
The latest teaser, combined with the end to filming has led commentators to speculate something major will be released very soon. But what?
Hopes are fading for a trailer. It seems certain nothing will be released before Star Wars Celebrations in April. However, this still does not mean anything will reach online. The Last Jedi full trailer was only released a few months before the film itself.
More likely is some sort of teaser video which reveals the title.
The most popular theories currently for the title are “Balance of the Force,” and our personal favourite “From His Nap”. The latter of course, perfectly complete the sentence started by the first two titles…
