Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice: Insider spills all on royals’ SECRET style trick

As members of the Royal Family, many fans from across the globe have been fascinated in what Princess Eugenie of York, now 28, and Princess Beatrice of York, now 30, have been up to over the years. Understandably, the pair have their own individual styles in their own right. So, what considerations go into the two princesses wardrobe choices? In order to find out, Express.co.uk contacted the fashion designer Holly Jade O’Leary.

The expert stylist styled both of the royals back in 2013 for Sam and Isabella Branson’s Wedding Party, while working as Head Stylist and Manager at Prangsta Costumiers.

As part of the five-day celebration of the pair’s nuptials, 140 guests dressed in glamorous ensembles for an “enchanted forest” themed party.

Recalling the outfits she picked out for the two princesses, Holly said: “Princess Eugenie has a slightly olive complexion, and voluptuous, feminine figure.

“I styled her in black velvet dress with ornate golden trimmings, tightly fitted, to accentuate her voluptuous hourglass figure.

“She looked fantastic, and the addition of the gold trimmings about the bust, and across the hem of the skirt lent a vibrant glamour, with the effect of a Russian doll.

“At a healthy size 10 – 12, Princess Eugenie’s feminine curves suit jewel like colours.”

Holly went on to discuss how Princess Beatrice had donned a cream floral get-up for the occasion.

“Princess Beatrice has a fairer, English rose complexion, and slightly more delicate features,” she told Express.co.uk.

“She wore a balletic cream and white flower fairy dress inspired by the Rococo movement in the 18th century, which I styled with a handmade garland headband created from cream vintage roses and a golden chain, to lend the effect of a classical mousai – the muses of Greco-Roman mythology which bring inspiration and strength to poets and heroes.”

While the pair make their fashion choices independently to one another, Holly pointed out that there is some similarity between the two’s typical styles.

“Both princesses tend towards structured, embroidered dresses and tailored jackets,” she noted.

“Princess Beatrice tends to favour sophisticated monochrome or elegant black or cream,” the fashion designer added, before referring to a number of examples which included the nude Valentino dress she wore to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding.

“Princess Eugenie wears more floral prints and warmer colours such as red or purple, including the floral Erdem dress she wore to announce her engagement to Jack Brooksbank, her red Galvan coat she wore the LA Shartwater Extinction premiere, the red Alexander Mcqueen dress worn to the Royal Ascot 2017, and her stunning corseted red Vivienne Westwood dress worn to Elton John’s white tie and tiara ball.

“When taking style tips from the these confident, gorgeous princesses there are a few elements which can be integrated for the modern woman.”

Holly went on to share a surprising style tip, which the two royals tend to adopt, due to their life in the limelight.

“As they are photographed a lot,” she began, “wearing simple block colours, accessorised with a nude or black heel lends film star glamour when viewed through a lens.”

So, how can fans pull off a similar aesthetic to the two princesses, who may be considered style icons by some?

As well as wearing blocks of colour and a nude or black high heel, “accentuate the look with bold accessories and millinery, a straight back, sisterly sass and a big smile,” the stylist advised.
