PS4 and Xbox One NEWS: Mystery games coming, and one title could make fans VERY happy

PS4 and Xbox One gamers look set to receive some surprise releases in the next year.

PS4 and Xbox One fans have plenty of already announced games to look forward to in 2019.

Xbox One fans have just seen Crackdown 3 release and have Gears of War 5 still to come, while PS4 gamers have Days Gone and Shenmue 3 on the horizon.

PS4 gamers will also surely be keeping their fingers crossed for Death Stranding, Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima releases for this year.

And it looks like PS4 and Xbox One fans also have some other mystery titles set to come in 2019, a post by GamingBolt revealed.

Gaming giant Ubisoft has revealed they have three or four AAA titles set for release in the 2019/2020 financial year.

This covers between April 2019 and March 2020.

Ubisoft did not name the games in question, but a number of them are surely set for PS4 and Xbox One releases.

And speculation is already mounting that one of these unannounced games could be a brand new entry in the Splinter Cell series.

These rumours have only been given more weight after a Splinter Cell easter egg was discovered in the recently released Far Cry New Dawn.

In one mission in the latest Far Cry there are plenty of references to characters and settings from the Splinter Cell series.

The mission also lets players unlock a outfit based on the get up Sam Fisher – the hero of the Splinter Cell series – wears.

The last Splinter Cell game was 2013’s Blacklist, and fans have long been hoping for a new entry in the stealth series.

The latest Splinter Cell easter egg isn’t the first time that Ubisoft have referenced the series.

Sam Fisher appeared in Ghost Recon Wildlands last year in a surprise Splinter Cell update.

For the Splinter Cell content, original Sam Fisher voice actor Michael Ironside reprised the role he first took on in 2002.

It had been hoped that this was a sign a new Splinter Cell game was imminent, with fans left keeping their fingers crossed for an E3 2018 reveal.

But that came and went without an announcement.

In the aftermath Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot hinted that Sam Fisher would make a return one day.

Speaking last September, he said: “So I will disappoint you because I don’t have an answer to give you exactly, but each brand we have, and each character, we want them to live in the long-term, so one day you will see something, but I can’t give you more details.”

The other mystery games that Ubisoft has up its sleeve could be Watch Dogs 3 and a new Assassin’s Creed title.
