Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: HBO boss drops devastating 'emotional' finale bombshell

Game of Thrones fans can barely wait for the final season of the HBO fantasy epic.

Many are wondering how the show will end, and there’s few that actually know the truth.

Now, HBO boss Casey Bloys has waded into the speculation and dropped some seriously tantalising teasers about the coming scenes.

He recently spoke about the footage he’s seen and seems to think it’s all going well.

Casey told TVLine: “Everything I have seen makes me very, very confident that this is a [season] fans are going to be very happy with.

“It is a dramatically and emotionally thrilling way to end the series.

“I believe it all live up to the very high expectations,” the HBO boss said.

Although not saying too much, Casey must be fairly pleased to be able to report such thrilling news back to fans.

This comes after there was an apparent leak of the Game of Thrones’ cast list, according to Watchers On The Wall.

The fan website reported the since-deleted news and it seemed that Tormund Giantsbane’s (played by Kristofer Hivju) fate has been confirmed.

He was last seen on top of The Wall which came crashing down thanks to the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).

Tormund was with Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) at the same time and it seemed the pair were surely dead.

But could their inclusion on the cast list give fans some hope they so desperately needed?

Meanwhile, it seems there’s bad news for current lovebirds Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) as a wild theory is doing the rounds suggesting the former will die.

It is long-thought Jon will be Azor Ahai in the coming series; a Prince That Was Promised in order to defeat the Night King.

However, should that be the case, Jon will have to kill his one true love in order for his weapon to be transformed into “the Lightbringer”, the only sword that can kill the evil villain.

So naturally, this wouldn’t end well for Daenerys, as the pair have just formed a cute relationship.

But would Jon really be able to lose another one of his romantic interests?

Fans don’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s coming for the beloved Game of Thrones characters.

HBO recently announced the serious would be returning in April and have been sharing lots of images and first-look footage to celebrate just that.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
