Is Kronos the ‘greater threat’ in Avengers Endgame?
Like any other fan-theory based supposition, the best answer we can offer is maybe.
Back in June, the theory was posited that Kronos could be a major factor in Avengers: Endgame.
A few days ago, Reddit user ak2sup offered a detailed theory as to why this could be true.
They wrote: “I think Endgame will take some plot points from IG comic in which one of the Cosmic entities, aka Kronos, was also involved.”

They go on to explain their theory that Kronos is trapped in the Quantum Realm.
Part of the plot of Endgame will involve the Avengers going on a mission to release him.
They presume Kronos will help them reverse the snap and defeat Thanos.
However, as is the rule of unintended consequences, Kronos will reveal his own evil plans and, due to his immense power, pose an even greater threat.
Kronos is one of the most powerful Eternals, founder of the planet Titan and perhaps most importantly the grandfather of Thanos.

Kronos is a master of time which bodes well for the fan theories surrounding time travel in Avengers 4.
The popular fan theory revolves around Tony Stark and the other Avengers as they try to use time travel to undo the chaos caused by Thanos’ Snap.
The role of Eternals in Avengers Endgame is unconfirmed as of yet.
However, Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos and Kronos, suggested Avengers Endgame will introduce another of his characters.
Since Thanos is already in Avengers, Kronos is the logical option.

To add more credence to the theory, a leak on Reddit claimed: “There’s a pivotal scene between Doctor Strange and a fully CGI character being shot on a secret location, with a skeleton crew, and which takes up a sizable portion of the budget.”
Whether that fully CGI character is Kronos is yet to be confirmed but given the mountain of evidence above, it sounds probable.
The official synopsis for Endgame comes from Disney Australia’s official Avengers: Endgame website.
It reads: “After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos.”
“With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
