Apple Watch rival as leak reveals new Samsung Galaxy Watch could arrive NEXT WEEK

The Apple Watch has long reigned supreme in the world of wearables thanks to its combination of intuitive software and well-built hardware.

Many manufacturers, including Samsung, have attempted to challenge the product from the Cupertino-based firm by offering alternatives.

The South Korean OEM last updated its line of wearables back in August when it held an Unpacked event in New York City and showed off the Galaxy Watch.

The Galaxy Watch presented a number of notable improvements over the Gear S3 it succeeded.

Samsung’s wearable arrived in 42millimetre and 46millimetre versions that offered laudable battery life and fitness features.

But it appears the South Korean firm is set to debut a new version of the Galaxy Watch that could be shown off at its forthcoming Unpacked event on February 20.

While the hardware showcase is expected to be centred around the Galaxy S10, a new leak has suggested a trio of wearables and a pair of headphones could also be revealed.

Samsung recently updated its Galaxy Wearable app and SamCentral noted it had inadvertently revealed a forthcoming lineup of products.

CNET posted an image of the software that discussed a “Galaxy Watch Active”, a “Galaxy Fit” and “Galaxy Fit e” in addition to “Galaxy Buds”.

The Galaxy Watch Active appeared to have incredibly small bezels around its circular display.

Most notably, the hardware was shown not to feature a rotating dial, a feature that has been a signature of recent Samsung wearables.

The photo displayed appeared to be incredibly similar to that shown off in a leak by 91Mobiles at the start of the month.

At the time, the outlet noted two buttons on the side of the product would serve to perform “key functions”.

Moreover, it was also clarified the new Galaxy Watch would be aimed at fitness enthusiasts.

It is presumed the new wearable from the South Korean tech giant will run its Tizen operating system.

Plus, it is also anticipated the hardware will be capable of performing the same fitness functions as already offered by the regular Galaxy Watch.

In addition to the Galaxy Watch Active, the Galaxy Fit and Fit e were shown to be wristband-style wearables.

While it is unclear what the difference between the standard Galaxy Fit and “e” version are, it appears the hardware will be a more accessible fitness device for fans.

Finally, the Galaxy Buds appeared incredibly similar to an earlier leak about the product from WinFuture.

The German outlet showed an image of the headphones in a charging case on top of a claimed Galaxy S10 handset.

The buds appeared to be wirelessly charging in the photo, suggesting they will support such functionality.

The appearance of the new products on Samsung’s Galaxy Wearables app could suggest it is planning to debut them at Unpacked next week.

However, nothing about the reveal of such items has been officially confirmed.
