AJ Pritchard: Strictly pro sets his sights on ‘perfect’ Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon

AJ Pritchard, who joined Strictly Come Dancing back in 2013, said Lucy Fallon caught his eye at a party. The professional dancer deemed the Coronation Street actress “perfect” for him, as he discussed possible partners on the Heart London Breakfast show. The 24-year-old was quizzed on who was on his “dream list” and wasted no time in mentioning the Bethany Platt star, 23. He revealed all on the programme on Tuesday, while admitting he was yet to find out if he’d be a part of the 2019 run.

After playing Rita Ora’s Anywhere, host Jamie Theakston asked AJ if the hitmaker would be a “good” partner.

“She’d be great!” he replied. “She’s the perfect height as well.”

The presenter then asked: “Do you sort of have a kind of dream list of who you would like to dance with? Who would be on there?”

The BBC pro continued: “People ask me who I’d like to dance with. I think that Lucy Fallon – she’s seems…

“She’s a good height. I saw her at a party once and I thought, blonde, yep – perfect. Lifts, we could work it…”

“Blimey,” Jamie responded. “Is that how you work parties? You check out the cute girls?”

He laughed: “This is obviously for dance purposes.”

Things then seemingly took an awkward turn as the DJ questioned: “Do you look at some people and think, I couldn’t lift her?” and when he didn’t get a reply he said: “We don’t have to go there.”

“Diplomatically yes,” AJ went on, before telling Jamie’s co-star Lucy Horobin he could life her when she pointed out her height – 5ft 9in.

Meanwhile, Jamie also asked: “Will you be back on Strictly next season?” after the star just missed out on the final with Lauren Steadman last year.

AJ added: “Hopefully, I don’t know yet. If that phone call… and when that phone call comes, I’ll be like, ‘Yes, yes, yes! Please, please, please! I want to be back’. Hopefully.”

It comes after AJ Pritchard revealed why he won’t be dancing with Paralympic athlete Lauren again.

Speaking in a Facebook Live, he said: “Lauren told me she is travelling to Lanzarote to train for her world championships which is the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020, so she is killing herself getting back to fitness.

“She’s a bit busy, but I’ll do a little live stream like we are doing now and she’ll love the show [his new tour, Get On The Floor].”

Tune into Heart London Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin, weekdays from 6am-9am.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is expected to return to BBC One later this year.
