Overwatch League Season 2 schedule, Standings and Twitch start time

The Overwatch League Season 2 schedule begins in just a few short hours on Twitch, with the first games pencilled in.

Since its debut, OWL has grown on the eSports scene, with more teams added to the roster.

But some things are also staying the same, with the Overwatch League Season 2 start time set to be shown on Twitch.

The Stage 1 Week 1 schedule begins at midnight tonight in the UK (FEB 15), and February 14 in the United States.

Philadelphia Fusion takes on London Spitfire, followed by a 90 minutes gap until the next match at 1:30am, GMT.

The official schedule can be found below but it should be noted that all times for UK fans will need 8+ hours added on, due to it being a PDT listing.

STANDINGS:

Because no Overwatch League games have been played yet, there is no need for an updated Standings bracket.

However, following today’s matches, Blizzard should share a list of results and an updated standings table.

So check back for a new OWL update.

OWL RULES

Because of the changes to the League structure, the rules have been tinkered a little before the Season 2 launch.

We now know that the Atlanta Reign, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, and Washington Justice will join the Atlantic Division.

Meanwhile, the Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, and Vancouver Titans will join the Pacific Division.

Here’s more from Blizzard, who confirm: “All teams will play a 28-match schedule this season, down from 40 from the 2018 season, while the All-Star Game and other skills competitions will be held between Stages 2 and 3.

“Stage Finals will be held after Stages 1, 2, and 3. Eight teams will qualify, including the two division leaders in that stage, along with the next six teams in the stage standings regardless of division.

“For the postseason, the two division winners along with the next best four teams by record, regardless of division, will automatically qualify.

“Two additional teams will qualify through a play-in tournament between the seventh- through 12th-place teams. Those final eight teams will compete for the league championship in a double-elimination bracket.”

The prize pool during Season 2 of Overwatch League has grown, which is now $5 million, up from $3.5 million in 2018.

Winner gets $200K, Runner-up gets $100K, 3rd and 4th place teams get $50K each, 5th through 8th place teams get $25K each.

Season Playoffs Prize Pool includes Champion getting $1.1M, Runner-up gets $600K, 3rd place team gets $450K, 4th place team gets $350K, 5th and 6th place teams get $300K each, 7th and 8th place teams get $200K each.
