Jasmine Harman: Collectaholics host gasps as guest reveals he STOLE item

The 43-year-old presenter met former punk rocker Gary on the programme and introduced viewers to his incredible collection of original punk posters. “Back in the 70s, when Gary started out collecting, music posters were designed to grab fans’ attention, then to be thrown away,” Jasmine Harman explained. “Punk posters weren’t thought to be of value, which is just as well, considering who Gary came about his first acquisition.” The shot then cut to Gary standing with Jasmine in front of a poster for The Damned.

“This poster was on the wall in our local record shop in Weston-Super-Mare[’s] listening booth,” Gary recalled.

“We were in there listening to a record with the headphones on; I whipped the poster down, rolled it up, and shoved it under my top.

“I liberated it,” he added, as Jasmine gasped.

Composing herself, she teased: “You mean you half-inched it, basically.”

“I stole it,” Gary admitted lightheartedly, adding: “I saved them from the bin.”

Jasmine’s BBC Two series Collectaholics recently returned to the channel, showing an episode each day this week.

The programme sees the presenter team up with antiques expert Mark Hill to explore the treasures gathered by some of Britain’s most avid collectors.

Earlier this week, the pair visited Margaret, whose house was packed with royal memorabilia.

A Place In The Sun favourite Jasmine was left gobsmacked by the collection when she entered a room with pieces covering almost every available space.

“Have you ever seen anything like it in your life?” Mark marvelled, as she gasped dramatically.

“I’m astonished,” she admitted, as it was explained how Margaret had been accumulating royal memorabilia for almost 40 years.

Jasmine is best known for hosting A Place In The Sun since 2004 and will soon be marking 15 years on the Channel 4 series.

She shared a snap of a screen showing her on the show with her 18,000 Instagram followers, saying she was recording voiceovers for the show.

“Exciting day for me today as after many years I was finally able to say ’15 years’ on @aplaceinthesunofficial.

“It will be my #aplaceinthesun #anniversary later this month,” she told fans.

Jasmine’s other TV appearances include her 2011 documentary My Hoarder Mum and Me, Britain’s Compulsive Shoppers and reporting for The One Show.

Collectaholics continues tomorrow at 2.15pm on BBC Two.
