Fortnite season 8 is only a few weeks away, with a brand new Battle Pass coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PCs and Macs.
Fortnite season 8 is fast approaching, and ahead of the Battle Pass launch fans have found out some major new details.
The big Fortnite season 8 news drop emerged after the release of Fortnite update 7.40 – likely to be the final major update of season 7.
Dataminers rummaged through the latest Fortnite patch to discover details on a major Cracken event coming to Battle Royale.
Assets for the Fortnite Cracken event include ‘Cracken_City’ and ’S8LeadupEvents’.
Mention of ‘Cracken_City’ will surely spark speculation again that Titled Towers could be about to get destroyed with the new Battle Pass.
The news was revealed in a post by reliable Fortnite leaker @lucas7yoshi_ who tweeted: “Oooo Season 8 Cracken”.
What the Cracken event will entail remains a mystery, but there has long been rumours of a Fortnite Leviathan creature coming to Battle Royale.

And recently it emerged that Epic Games had been testing having players attack on mass an iceberg which had a ridiculous amount of health.
Could this Fortnite Cracken – which may emerge after the much rumoured earthquake – be a huge boss that all players have to join together to defeat?
If that was the case then it would be like nothing Fortnite has ever seen before.
In other Fortnite news, Epic Games revealed that players will be able to get the season 8 Battle Pass for free.
To get the free Fortnite season 8 Battle Pass, players will have to complete 13 of the newly released Overtime challenges.
Epic Games said: “The response we’ve seen to the #SharetheLove event has been amazing.
“And with the arrival of Valentine’s Day, we’re here to share one more surprise.
“Everyone who completes 13 free Overtime Challenges by February 27 will receive the upcoming Season 8 Battle Pass for FREE!
