EastEnders spoilers: Mel and Hunter Owen’s fate EXPOSED in major soap format change

EastEnders viewers are going to find out Mel (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) and Hunter Owen’s (Charlie Winter) fate tonight as the popular BBC One soap is airing two episodes.

This week, fans will tune in to five episodes as the soap will be off air on Monday night due to the live coverage of the Chelsea vs Manchester United game on BBC One.

Therefore only three instalments of the soap will be on television next week, and keen for the fans to not miss any of the drama, tonight’s double bill will ensure they get their EastEnders fix.

Scenes recently aired have led up to tonight’s big getaway, where Mel has strategically planned her and Hunter’s exit from the Square.

But in a storyline twist, spoilers have revealed how the mother and son will be followed by a police car.

There have been many suggestions as to what will happen next, with some viewers considering Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to have tipped off the authorities.

Having a previous career as a police officer, Mel and Hunter’s future could be in jeopardy should he expose the truth about Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon), whose body was dug up earlier in the week.

As the police ramp up the murder investigation, could viewers see a major chase give way tonight? And could it result in Hunter or Mel, or both being arrested?

Fans know actor Charlie is leaving the soap and therefore it can be suggested that his character Hunter will be leaving Walford alone.

Will he run away alone and leave mum Mel to face the consequences of his actions?

But Keanu’s mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), who knows about their forbidden relationship could expose their secret soon.

Walking in on a unhappy Phil, Karen jumps to conclusions and assumes he is angry because he has found out about Sharon and Keanu liaising with one another behind his back.

Will Phil catch onto the comments Karen is making and realise his wife has been up to no good?

Meanwhile, Keanu has been beaten up whilst carrying out Phil’s orders.

Will he return to Albert Square well enough to step up and be a father to his and Louise’s chid?

EastEnders returns tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
