Rachel’s announcement comes just hours after her partner Pasha, 39, revealed he has left Strictly Come Dancing after eight years on the show.

The professional dancer took to Twitter to address his reasons for leaving.

In view of his 145,000 followers, he commented: “After scoring 93 perfect tens, reaching four finals and lifting one Glitterball, it’s time for me to find a new challenge and so I’ve decided to make last year – my final season on Strictly.

“I’ve had eight fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.

“The biggest thanks go to all the members of the public who’ve supported me so much over these years – I look forward to seeing you on the Strictly Pro-Tour this spring, and for many future adventures to come!”

Rachel and Pasha got together after they were paired up on the BBC show in 2013.

He has also danced with the likes of Ashley Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Carol Kirkwood and Caroline Flack, who won the Glitterball trophy in 2014.

Strictly Come Dancing also shared the news of Pasha’s exit with their Instagram and Twitter followers.

They wrote: “Sadly after eight incredible series, the brilliant Pasha Kovalev has decided to leave Strictly.

“Pasha, from all of us, thank you for your amazing choreography and routines over the years. You’ll be sorely missed!”
