Snapchat DOWN: Server status latest as selfie app not working for THOUSANDS of users

SNAPCHAT DOWN – UPDATE TWO: The issues affecting Snapchat servers tonight appear to have been resolved.

Down Detector reports of Snapchat down have fallen from a peak of almost 6,000 to just a handful.

SNAPCHAT DOWN – UPDATE ONE: The Snapchat Support Twitter has confirmed the selfie social network is experiencing issues right now.

The @snapchatsupport account revealed that engineers are working on a fix and advised Snapchat fans to stay logged in.

They tweeted: “Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app.

“Hang tight, we’re working on a fix! In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in”.

ORIGINAL: Snapchat down reports are flooding in right now with the selfie social network not working for thousands of users.

Independent outage monitor Down Detector has received a surge of Snapchat down reports.

Out of those Snapchat users affected, some 50 per cent of Snapchat fans are having trouble sending snaps.

While 30 per cent of affected Snapchat users are having server connection issues and 20 per cent are having trouble receiving snaps.

As the Snapchat server problems hit fans took to rival social network Twitter to report issues with the service.

One user posted: “Snapchat is down”.

Another wrote: “Anybody else’s snapchat not working??”

One added: “Snapchat is down again”.

And one said: “Coming to twitter to see if Snapchat is down or if it’s my WiFi“.

Express.co.uk has contacted Snapchat for comment.

At the peak of the outage – at the time of writing – Down Detector has registered more than 3,600 Snapchat down reports.

The Down Detector outage map also showed that Snapchat users around the world were affected by the server issues.

Those hit hardest were Snapchat fans in the UK and America. Snapchat users in parts of Europe were also reportedly affected.
