Emmerdale spoilers: Rhona Goskirk DIES in tractor accident horror? Pete could go to prison

Rhona (played by Zoe Henry) has gone quiet on Emmerdale over the last few months, as the action has focused more on other characters in the ITV soap, particularly in the aftermath of Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) death.

In fact, Rhona’s last major scenes saw the animal doctor get hurt when she was knocked down by an angry Dawn (Olivia Bromley) in the height of her struggles with drugs.

Dawn tried to kiss Pete (Anthony Quinlan), leaving Rhona upset and distressed by the whole situation, but luckily the character was secure in trusting her boyfriend.

However that may all be set to change in upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, as if Rhona survives her terrible ordeal, she may never forgive the farmer.

The plot begins when Pete finally arrives to work one day, but the character misses a vital warning from the Butler farm owners.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) asks her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) to convey a warning about a dodgy tractor on the land, but the bartender is too wrapped up in his own drama to remember.

Matty immediately starts groaning about Cain’s recent behaviour to Pete, and the information completely slips his mind.

And in a cruel twist of fate, Rhona just happens to be covering Vanessa Woodfield’s (Michelle Hardwick) shift, meaning she has to go and check on the cows at the farm.

Rhona attempts to find the bovine animals, but is puzzled when they are nowhere to be seen.

The vet wanders the land repeatedly before she decides the best course of action is to give her boyfriend Pete a ring.

Standing in the barn, Rhona has no idea Pete is barely a few metres away, and the unthinkable happens.

Viewers will be stricken as they see danger is about to hurtle towards her.

Distracted by the sudden phone call, Pete is thrown into panic when the brakes fail on his vehicle.

Barely having time to come up with an alternative plan, Pete swerves into the barn instead, and ploughs into the mother-of-one.

Knocked to the ground in dramatic scenes, Rhona will be seen unconscious and bleeding, but will she survive?

There could be all manner of twists ahead – for one thing, Rhona could be put into a coma for the foreseeable future.

It has been nearly a year since bosses created a coma plot with the now-exit Rebecca White (Emily Head), so they could be gearing up for a new one.

Or in a shocking turn of events, Rhona could be about to die, and a devastated Pete may be arrested for manslaughter.

Will Rhona’s injuries result in tragedy on the ITV soap?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
