Piers Morgan: 'I'll keep it very quiet' Fans reveal what they REALLY think of GMB star

A new poll revealed Piers Morgan, 53, is the public’s most popular secret crush. According to Heat Magazine’s Secret Crush, the Good Morning Britain host was the runaway winner for the nation’s hidden affections. The survey found he garnered more votes then the rest of the top five combined. He even beat his ITV morning co-star and This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield, 56, who came in fourth.

“I’m a very modest guy by nature and I think I’ll probably just keep it very quiet and not tell anybody other than millions and millions of people the moment the embargo has been lifted,” he said of his win.

“My particular thoughts at this difficult moment are with Lord Sugar, who was one of the other people on the long list,” Piers quipped.

“To be fair to him, he’s had a very massive crush on his face for quite some time from a two-ton anvil that landed on it 50 years ago, rendering it such an abomination.

“I feel for him and I feel for Kanye West — poor old Kim Kardashian’s woken up to the fact that more people fancy me than her husband,” he added. “That’s not a good morning for her.”

On the subject of telly favourites Ant and Dec, who regularly beat Piers to the top spot to scoop awards for Best Presenter at the National Television Awards, he said: “Both of them combined couldn’t beat me.

“I keep coming back to one word… landslide.”

Speaking about her husband’s victory, Piers’ writer wife of nine years Celia Walden, 43, told Heat: “People are weird aren’t they? I only married him for the handbags.”

Piers’ Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid, 48, seemed similarly unimpressed, saying: “I’m not in the least bit surprised he’s won the Secret Crush Award.

“Who is their right mind would want to publicly declare they have a crush on Piers?”

With the controversial broadcaster coming in first, he was followed by comedian Lee Mack, 50, in second place, Declan Donnelly, 43, in third, Phillip in fourth and radio presenter ‘Comedy’ Dave Vitty, 44, in fifth.

Meanwhile, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 winner Harry Redknapp, 71, took the ninth spot and Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones, 35, came in at number 19 on the list.

Father-of-four Piers was joined by Susanna as he posed for a celebratory shoot with his award after topping the poll.

He looked delighted as he clutched the trophy clenching his fist victoriously as he grinned for the camera.

One snap showed Susanna pulling a horrified face as he gestured towards the award, which bore his name.

Having started his career as a journalist and editor of several tabloid newspapers, Piers went on to appear as a judge on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.

He joined the GMB line-up in 2015 and has worked with Susanna on the show ever since.
