Novak Djokovic will beat Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to Wimbledon title – David Law

Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in straight sets to win his 15th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January.

Djokovic, 31, has won Wimbledon four times, including a victory in last year’s final over Kevin Anderson.

However, Roger Federer and Nadal remain two of the favourites for this summer’s Wimbledon and the veterans have experience on their side.

Nadal has won the SW19 tournament twice – whilst Federer has taken home the trophy on an incredible EIGHT occasions.

Despite that, Law reckons world No 1 Djokovic is most likely to take come out on top this July.

“The absolute favourite for Wimbledon is Novak Djokovic,” Law said on The Tennis Podcast.

“Roger Federer is with Rafael Nadal probably next I would say.”

Law has made his prediction with an eye on last year’s results, in which Nadal and Federer fell short of the final.

Federer went out to Anderson in the quarter-finals whilst Nadal was beaten by his Djokovic a stage later.

Law added: “Roger Federer’s five-set loss to Kevin Anderson? And Rafael Nadal reaching the semi-finals and losing 10-8 in the fifth?

“Based on recent history and the form Roger Federer has been in recently, no I don’t think I do [have to justify the prediction].

“I don’t think he [Federer] is ahead of Nadal.”

Veteran Federer revealed this week that he no longer focuses on the world rankings, but on whether he can still beat his greatest rivals.

He said: “For me the ranking, at 37 years old, is no longer really the priority.

“But the idea for me is to be in good health, to know that I can win tournaments, to know that I can beat [Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal] and after that it is a pleasure.

“Even if my ranking goes down further, it’s not a problem for me. As long as I say I can win a grand slam as I did two years ago with a world ranking of 17, everything is in place.”
