Dancing On Ice 2019: ITV show suffers brutal knock ahead of live show

According to figures from last Sunday’s show however, only 5.7 million tuned in to see her narrowly avoid the skate-off on the ITV dance show.

This is a drop of almost half a million from the week previous and the peak audience also saw a drop with 6.8 million watching last weekend compared to the week before when 7.6 tuned in.

However, the knocks don’t stop there as although it was ITV’s most watched programme on Sunday night, it secured an audience share of 28 per cent.

Again, this is a drop from the share the week Gemma fell which was at 31 per cent.

Gemma wasn’t the only face to make a return to the ice as cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, 40, made a comeback after receiving a pass following an injury sustained the week previously.

Although he tried his best, the tentative skater didn’t do enough to impress the viewers as he joined Loose Woman panelist Saira Khan, 48, in performing again.

However, the judges saw potential in the star and decided to save him from elimination, meaning he will return to the ice once again tonight.

Though, he could be in danger as latest odds have shown both him and Gemma at risk of being sent home and loosing out on the chance to become skating champions.

As the two celebrities with the lowest combined scores from the judges, Ryan and Gemma are skating on thin ice with the viewers also.

According to the latest odds from bookmakers OddsMonkey, Ryan is the hot favourite to leave this weekend at 1/2 with Gemma shortly behind at 4/1.

They are also both at the bottom of the odds table for winner of this year’s series, with Gemma’s chance of becoming queen of the ice at 25/1.

However, Gemma’s chances are better then those of Ryan who is the outsider at 100/1. Could his fate have been sealed as fans are failing to get behind him?

On the other end of the spectrum, it looks like Love Island star Wes Nelson, 20, could beat former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan, 40, to the pole position.

Spokesperson for OddsMonkey Peter Watton said: “James Jordan may be the Judges’ favourite, but Wes is the one who the Bookmakers fear.

“We are being told he is by far the most popular bet – although James is also seeing good backing,” he continued.

With the sixth live show airing tonight, there are only a few more weeks before the Dancing On Ice champion is crowned.

Dancing On Ice returns tonight at 6pm on ITV.
