Fortnite UPDATE: Driftboard boost for patch 7.40 ahead of season 8 release

Fortnite fans could soon see the Driftboard make its long-awaited return.

The Fortnite Driftboard was originally meant to be released in Battle Royale with update 7.10.

However, the Fortnite release was pushed back due to “quality of life changes and other polish improvements”.

But as Fortnite season 7 draws to a closer, it’s rumoured that the Fortnite Driftboard will be arriving before the season 8 release date.

Fortnite leaker @lucas7yoshi_ is hoping the Driftboard could make an appearance in Fortnite update 7.40.

In a post online the Twitter user wrote: “Lowkey expect driftboard in v7.40 ngl”.

The Fortnite Driftboard is a snowboard-like vehicle that’s perfect for the snowy areas added during Fortnite season 7.

Here’s what Epic Games originally said about the Driftboard delay back in December: “We know we set the expectation for the Driftboard to release in the coming update.

“Unfortunately, we’ve decided to hold the release of this new vehicle to make some final quality of life changes and other polish improvements.

“We want to get you out there carving up the slopes as soon as possible.

“However, our goal is to make sure that your experiences on the Driftboard are up to our expectations.

“We still have tons of quality of life and balance improvements on the way in v7.10.”

It remains to be seen if the Fortnite Driftboard does get added with Fortnite update 7.40.

But one thing is for certain – the next patch will include the Overtime challenges for the newly released Fortnite Share The Love event.

The Fortnite Valentine’s Day event started on February 8 and will run all the way through till February 27.

But the Overtime challenges coming with Fortnite Share The Love are only getting added with Fortnite update 7.40.

Here’s what Epic Games had to say about the upcoming new Fortnite challenges: “Did you complete your 10 weekly Challenges and are looking for more? We have you covered!

“Starting with the v7.40 release, all players will have access to new, additional Overtime Challenges.

“Complete these Challenges by the end of the Season to unlock 5 new rewards including the Valentine Wrap and Vines Contrail.

“And for Battle Pass owners, the Overtime Challenge rewards will include new unlockable styles for the Trog, Powder, and Onesie outfits.”
