Bohemian Rhapsody: Rami Malek channels Freddie Mercury with Beatles star Paul McCartney

The Oscar-nominated Malek shared a picture on his Twitter today with his hand in the air channelling Freddie Mercury. Next to him playing an air guitar is Sir Paul, in a snap taken by his daughter Mary. Malek tweeted: “‘You do your Freddie, I’ll do my Beatle.’ I will treasure this @PaulMcCartney. Thank you @maryamccartney.” The Bohemian Rhapsody star was referencing his encounter with the Beatles legend at the end of last year.

He added: “I got taken backstage as if I was Freddie Mercury.

“And then Paul goes ‘I’m going to do my best Beatles pose, you do your best Freddie Mercury pose and let’s take a photo’, and my fist just went straight up into the air.”

The former Beatle had been on tour to support his latest solo album Egypt Station while treating his fans to songs from his old band like A Hard Day’s Night and Hey Jude, among solo classics from Live and Let Die to Wonderful Christmas Time.

While his five-song encore with Sir Ringo and Ronnie included a rendition of Get Back.
