Star Wars 9 trailer leak reveals Knights of Ren, HUGE battle and a 'scene like AVATAR'

Super Bowl came and went with no Star Wars 9 trailer, despite reports that finished footage has been in the can since December. Fans are expecting the official Episode IX title reveal any day now, although there are fears we may have to wait rather longer to see the first scenes on the screen. However, detailed descriptions of five different scenes set up some easily predictable shots but also the tantalising possibility JJ Abrams will finally introduce The Whills and the worlds “Beyond” the veil.

Yes, these are leaks. Yes, they may contain spoilers. Yes, they may be proved to be reveal nothing that ends up in the finished film. But they sound amazing…

Various shots for the teaser trailer have been described including: “Rey sprinting across a battlefield with an ignited blue lightsaber, with dozens of resistance fighters running behind her towards a tall structure with a First Order flag.”

Further leaks claim this battlefield will be “inspired by the Normandy beaches from World War 2.”

The concept art and scene desertions add: “The next goes over  close-up of Kylo Ren’s face putting on his reforged helmet. There is a brief pause that leads to Kylo igniting the sober which causes a red glow on the reforged helmet that has red lines running down it.

“Another goes over a glimpse of the major space battle with dozens of A-Wings, X-Wings, E Y-Wings fighting storms of TIE fighters and new forms of TIE Interceptors. The next goes over sequences of The Knights of Ren marching with Kylo Ren in front with his lightsaber ignited and pointing towards something or somebody.”

The Sequel Trilogy has not delivered a major space battle so far on the scale of anything seen in the Prequel and Original Trilogies, or even Rogue One.

Fans also know that Y-Wings have been out of action for decades. However, this could simply point to the desperation of the Resistance forces who must use outdated and obsolete weapons and ships and anything at all they can salvage.

However, it is the final description which is truly tantalising, with many immediately suggesting this is a way to introduce the Whills on screen. It could also be part of the rumoured scenes where Rey enters an ancient temple and meets the Force Ghost of Luke Skywalker.

The leaks adds: “Lastly a shot of Rey entering a cave full of glowing blue crystals and white orbs flying around. It’s like something out of Avatar.”

Star Wars fans know that floating orbs of light appearing to a Jedi herald the arrival of a Force ghost, always in a time of great need, usually with a very important message. A similar scene was depicted when Yoda was visited by the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn in the Clone Wars TV series. Yoda then repeated the trick himself by appearing to Ezra in the Star Wars Rebels show.

A blue glow also associated with the mysterious and powerful Whills. Does Rey still have the Book of The Whills, salvaged from the temple on Ahch-To?
