Emilia Clarke Instagram: 'Guess who's back' Game of Thrones star speaks out on return

Emilia Clarke, the star of Game of Thrones, set tongues wagging when she uploaded a photo of her on-screen persona on Instagram. The 32-year-old actress shared a spoiler photo of Daenerys Targaryen from season eight of the HBO series with her 18.4 million followers. In the snap, the mother of dragons is draped in an elegant mahogany gown, with elaborate shoulder pads. Half of her white locks fell to her chest in tousled curls, while the remaining tresses were plaited.

Daenerys appeared fixated on something in the distance, presumably somebody, and she had a mute expression on her face.

Captioning the picture, Emilia wrote: “Guess who’s back… back again. (Well almost). @helenstills you got that magic.

“@gameofthrones you ready people? @hbo #themotherofmissthathairalready #season6 #gameofthrones #DADADAAHHHHHHHH #theend.”

Naturally, many of her loyal fans rushed to the comment section to share their excitement about the impending release of Games of Thrones season eight.

One person penned: “I just finished watching seasons one to seven AGAIN. I’m ready GIRLFRIEND.”

Another fan shared: “I can’t wait to see the breaker of chains back on the screen. DRACARYS!”

A third commentator wrote: “We have waited so long,” as another exclaimed: “I CANT WAAAAAIIIITTT”(sic)

Someone else remarked: “Come through mother of dragons… breaker of chains,” while a sixth fan said: “Yesssss let’s go Khaleesi.”(sic)

Meanwhile, HBO revealed several first look images, giving fans a glimpse of what is to come during the final series of Game of Thrones.

The television network shared 14 images from the latest series, featuring fan favourites such as Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

Sharing the images on the Making Game of Thrones blog, they wrote: “From the Mother of Dragons to the Lady of Winterfell, check out these images from the final season before its premiere on April 14.”

HBO previously unveiled its first trailer for Game of Thrones season eight, entitled Dragonstone, on December 6, 2018.

A month later they dropped the second Game of Thrones teaser promo, titled Crypts of Winterfell.

Crypts of Winterfell provided the first glimpse at the surviving members of the Stark family – Jon Snow, Arya Stark, and Sansa Stark.

Game of Thrones season eight will premiere Sunday, April 14 on HBO and the following day on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

The latest season will be the series’ shortest season to date – the entire eighth season will only consist of six episodes.
