'ACTIVE shooter' on CAMPUS at Central Washington University – campus in LOCKDOWN

The campus has been placed on lockdown with the potential shooting incident unfolding at Lind Hall. Central Washington University officials have confirmed there have been no reports of any injuries. University police also confirmed buildings are secure and the campus is safe.

They also said there were no known shots or suspects.

Linda Schactler, university chief of staff, said the alert had been a false alarm.

A tweet from the university confirmed all buildings had been secured and the campus was clear.

The tweet said: “University police reported that all buildings have been secured and the campus is safe and all-clear.”

One student Alexia Guajardo shared a video of students barricaded inside a canteen at the university.

She told Daily Star Online: “I’m currently at the Bistro, it’s a small cafe on campus.

“Police have evacuated the recreation centre, everyone is currently on lockdown.

“There may be a report of a second shooter.”

Police at the university confirmed just after 7pm local time that “all buildings have been secured and the campus is safe and all-clear”.

They added that no one had been injured.

The university’s official Twitter account shared an update: “No confirmed shots, no known suspects and no suspect has been found.”
