Fans of the Star Wars saga have been waiting for official news on the ninth and final entry in the Skywalker story for some time now, with a title now due at any time. A teaser trailer is also believed to be coming, most likely at Star Wars Celebration in April. But has Anthony Daniels – who plays C-3P0 – revealed that something huge is en route very soon indeed?
That’s certainly the impression he’s given the fanbase after an exciting tweet last night.
He cryptically posted: “How strange. I am receiving images of something amazing coming towards us – travelling over decades through space and time – reaching out to all humans on this planet with its message.
“What could it be? Should I be afraid? Should you? Stay tuned.”
At time of writing, it’s had over 1,000 Retweets and more than 6,400 Likes.
Safe to say, the replies are mostly flooded with Star Wars fans expressing their excitement.
Of course Daniels may not even be talking about the upcoming film, but we’ll just have to sit tight and wait to find out.
Last week he revealed to his 109,000 followers that he had finished filming Episode 9.
“Today was 3PO’s last on Episode IX,” he posted.
“He’s sad – so am I. But we’re so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy.
“I’ll miss everyone but I’m glad to know that we’ve been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.”
He later added: “I’m so touched by all your messages. I admit, leaving the set on Monday needed a stiff upper lip. No problem for 3PO. But for me…
“Now your tweets keep that feeling alive, making me sadly happy. But when one door closes… Then, doors aren’t the only things you open. Are they.”
Star Wars: Episode 9 is out in December.
