EastEnders spoilers: Murderous villain to make unexpected return as fans spot major clue?

There could be bloodshed in EastEnders as some fans of the BBC One drama series believe a murderer will make a shock comeback.

Some viewers have been led to believe Bobby Beale (played by Eliot Carrington) will return to Albert Square later this year.

Currently, Bobby is serving time in prison for the murder of his sister Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater), who he hit over the head with a music box nearly three years ago.

The youngster also attacked his step-mum Jane (Laurie Brett), leaving her in a wheelchair.

Now, fans of the long-running drama series suspect he will make a surprise return after his name was mentioned in conversation in last night’s instalment of the soap.

His dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) received a letter, explaining Bobby will be released from prison in June.

Viewers were quick to suggest the name drop meant the character’s return to Walford was “imminent”.

Taking to Twitter to discuss the prospect of Bobby’s comeback, one person wrote: “Bobby creeping back into the picture, yes then EastEnders.”

Another fan added: “Bobby talk. Bobby’s return is imminent,” while a third said: “I spy a new Bobby Beale on the horizon.”

A fourth commentator shared: “That’s gong to be very interesting once #BobbyBeale makes another appearance in Albert Square. Any day now.”

Someone else remarked: “So by the looks of it Bobby Beale will be returning to EastEnders in June then.”

Seconding that thought, another fan penned: “Bobby Beale back for June 2019 then?” as a another laughed: “Due for release lol. [He] should be doing at least another 10 years.”

At the beginning of the year, EastEnders boss Kate Oates teased surprise returns and tantalising storylines.

During a Q&A session with fans on the soap’s official Twitter page, the producer revealed: “I’ve got so much planned.

“2019 is going to be a really big year. We’ve got some fantastic long term arcs for you guys. The storylines will be really rich and diverse.”

Of the return of past characters, she shared: “We’ve got some great returnees planned.

“You may know that Lola is coming back so I’m really looking forward to seeing her in the Square.”

She continued: “We’ve got a couple more secret returnees coming. One is coming back in Spring that I’m really excited about.

“It’s going to be a fairly short stint but I think it’s going to have a really huge impact so they’re part of my big plans for 2019.”

EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm.
