Apex Legends UPDATE patch notes: New PS4, Xbox One update live – here's what it does

Apex Legends gets its first update today, as Respawn makes some server-side fixes on PS4 and Xbox One.

According to the early patch notes, the new Apex Legends update improves stability.

The news was announced by Community Manager Jay Frechette, who told Reddit users that the update would launch later today.

“Tomorrow morning [PST] we’ll be pushing a small server side patch to address some stability issues,” the post reads. “We’ll be providing patch notes when it’s live.”

Express Online will update this piece when the full Apex Legends patch notes are revealed.

The same post also confirmed that Apex Legends was played by around 8 million people at launch.

It’s particularly impressive given that Apex Legends’ servers remained relatively stable throughout.

The new game from Titanfall developer Respawn is described as the next evolution of Battle Royale.

“Conquer with character in Apex Legends, a free-to-play Battle Royale shooter where legendary characters with powerful abilities team up to battle for fame and fortune on the fringes of the Frontier,” reads the official description.

“Master an ever-growing roster of diverse legends, deep tactical squad play, and bold new innovations that level-up the Battle Royale experience – all within a rugged world where anything goes.

“Welcome to the next evolution of Battle Royale.”

The game will be supported with new content in the coming weeks and months.

A special Battle Pass will launch in March, complete with new weapons, items and other rewards.

New Legends are also pencilled in for 2019, alongside cross-platform play.

Respawn has also promised new maps, although there’s currently no timeframe.
