The Walking Dead season 10 CONFIRMED as dramatic teaser trailer reveals release date

The Walking Dead will return for a tenth series later this year, showrunner Angela Kang has confirmed.

A preview clip, showing The Whisperers from the zombie apocalypse series was shared on the television writer’s Instagram page, as well as the show’s official account.

In the video, a horde of zombies growled and whispered, as one starred directly at the camera, while placing a finger to their mouth.

At the very end of the footage, “S10 October” was sprawled across the screen in large capital letters.

Alongside the video, Angela told her 78,8000 followers: “Season 10! #twd #thewalking dead.”

Fans of the show were delighted with the news and rushed to her comment section to discuss the shock announcement.

One person wrote: “Woah I’m beyond excited”, while another exclaimed: “You rock! @angelakang. I’m so excited.”

A third person mentioned: “Oh boy, you are TWD fans! @angelakang this is great news.”

Someone else shared: “This is the best thing ever! @angelakang you are doing amazing things!”

Another remarked: “We’re all exited for season 10 and we haven’t even finished dealing with season nine, so much excitement I can’t take it.”

The Walking Dead mid-season premiere for series nine is set to air on AMC in the USA later this week.

However, fans of the Super Bowl were given a preview of the show on Sunday night when the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13 – 3.

The opening sequences of the video began by hinting at “The Matchup of the Season”, before The Whisperers appeared.

New villains The Whisperers wear the skins of zombies in order to disguise themselves.

The skin allows them to blend in and avoid attacks, as well as leaving them able to kill their opponents.

In the trailer, Alpha (Samantha Morton) and Beta (Ryan Hurst) led the team of survivors, who brandished weapons, including a huge knife.

They prepared to go toe-to-toe with Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Carol (Melissa McBride) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton).

But just before the two groups clashed, up flashed text, which read: “Head-to-head, a killer offense against a deadly deffense of veterans and rookies. Put up or shut up.”

The Walking Dead returns on Sunday at 9pm on AMC.

The Walking Dead season 10 is due for release this October.
