Fortnite prisoner stage 3 update following new skin reveal

It appears fans are having to wait for a new update before they can unlock stage 3 of the new Fortnite Prisoner skin.

Recently released by Epic Games, the new Battle Pass bonus is available to those who have completed the secret battle star challenge.

The Prisoner skin was unlocked following the completion of the Snowfall Challenge and is now one of the last remaining tasks for Battle Pass owners.

The Prisoner is expected to evolve over time, with players able to unlock new stages of the skin before the end of Season 7.

But having unlocked the first two stages, Fortnite fans are unable to progress to stage 3.

And it appears that the new quest might be tied to the Loading Screen which is made available weekly by Epic Games.

According to data miners, the next stage of the Fortnite Prisoner skin may be attached to new Campfires being added to the game.

Asset codes seem to point to this requirement and would mean that players will have to wait until something happens, like an update to the game.

And it just so happens that Epic Games has confirmed plans to make changes to Campfire later this month.

A Fortnite Item Designer confirmed the news earlier this year on Reddit, revealing that the changes would be beneficial to the game.

“We’re deploying a change soon that will extend the campfire gameplay further by allowing players to interact with the existing campfires found throughout the environment, the Epic Games dev post reads.

“Interact with the wood pile in order to light the fire. From that point on it behaves just like a Cozy Campfire: healing nearby players and burning out after 25 seconds.”

There’s no guarantee when this change will be made and if indeed it is a requirement for the Fortnite Prisoner skin.

According to the latest reports, players may need to interact with these new environmental campfires to unlock the next stage of the skin.

However, until fans find more on the subject, we may have to wait until the next weekly challenge update to know for sure.

Season 7 is scheduled to end by February 28, meaning there’s only a short time left for the quest to be completed.

The change is due to a two-week break for Epic staff over Christmas, meaning Season 7 of Fortnite will last 12 weeks.

The Prisoner skin has also been linked to big changes for the start of Season 8.

Epic Games like to start a new season with a bang and data miners believe that an earthquake might be used to kick off the game in March.

Leaked files suggest that the fourth and final phase of the Prisoner skin will include lava marks, which could be a subtle hint that something big could happen to the map in the near future.
