Red Dead Redemption 2 Online remains a big part of Rockstar Games’ plans in 2019, meaning new content on PS4 and Xbox One.

So far, the dev team have outlined what’s coming next, much of it still vague and providing less clarity for fans.

But a different kind of update is coming soon that could include a lot of important information for Red Dead Online fans.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, will be reporting their latest earnings this week.

And plenty of big news could be shared during this report that will include an idea of how Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer is faring.

The third-quarter results should include plenty of news on Red Dead Redemption 2, including sales data and multiplayer support.

This means information on how profitable Red Dead Online has proven so far.

The company is expected to perform very well, especially when you consider that this report will include much of the sales data from Red Dead Redemption 2’s release in 2018.

But if Red Dead Online is seen to be struggling when it comes to concurrent spending, that could raise questions marks regarding future sustainability.

GTA Online continues to prove a massive multiplayer success and its hard to know just how much this is affecting Red Dead Online.

The other big update that could be released this week will be a short statement on what plans Rockstar Games has for Red Dead Online.

This will likely be part of the financial report and may provide fans with a clue on when new content might drop.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is still pretty bare bones when it comes to new content, even following a series of recent updates.

Fans themselves are calling out for more stuff to do, with Rockstar Games confirming they have plans for new story missions soon.

Here’s a recent comment from a player just starting out in Red Dead Online, who writes: “I tried playing it the other day after completing the story.

“The horse I have gets exhausted after riding half a mile, the missions I’ve done paid beans, and it feels like there’s an overall lack of anything worth doing.

“I’d love to just be able to explore the map and putz around, but I can’t even do that because my damn horse has the stamina of Homer Simpson when he tried to run for the first time.

“So I can’t even go anywhere. Is there any easy way to at least set myself up to be able to explore better without grinding for hours?”

Plenty of advice has been given on what horses to upgrade to and what activities will prove the most fruitful.

Red Dead Online continues to receive updates

“I know a way, but it requires a friend to pull off. Boot up ‘more than one way to earn a buck’ and start it before anyone else can join the lobby,” one reply reads.

“Clear the base and do the mission as normal, but don’t blow up and ammo crates when the game tells you. Once you clear all enemies, you are free to roam the entire map, all shops are open and completely usable.

“The only problem I have run into is that you can’t fish. But you can hunt and bring everything to the butcher. No wanted level, no other players to grief you. Pretty fun with a friend.”

Rockstar Games has provided a short overview of what will be released next, some of which sounds more exciting than others.

New Races and Showdown Modes are coming, activities that will no doubt prove less popular than the other stuff Rockstar has planned.

This includes fresh clothing to buy and emotes to unlock, as well new Daily Challenges that will help keep players busy.

Other confirmed updates include new story missions being added to the game, which are sorely needed.

So what could be coming next to Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer that Rockstar hasn’t mentioned yet?

New “War Wagons” with mounted weapons and armour plating have been reported, although it’s unclear if this is something next to the game.

Properties have also been discovered, with around ten different locations expected to be added in the future.

Some fans are also hoping for new map expansions, be it in Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer, or as some kind of DLC.

If Red Dead Online is seen to be lagging behind, could Rockstar Games start looking at expanding their DLC plans?

More information could be coming our way this week, although, there’s no guarantee just how much will be shared.

WHEN DOES THE RDR2 BETA END?

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the current multiplayer mode is in the beta phase of testing.

This means that it isn’t the finished product and could likely suffer from issues connected with server crashes and gameplay bugs.

The latest news from Rockstar Games suggests that the RDR2 beta could run until Spring 2019, with more news expected in the coming weeks.

So while we probably won’t learn masses on what Rockstar has planned next for Red Dead Redemption 2 Online, some interesting news may still be revealed this week.
