Denis Suarez: He's a 'very good player' – Arsenal hero drools over signing ahead of debut

Arsenal signed Suarez on loan from Barcelona on Thursday for the remainder of the season.

It’s understood the north Londoners have the option to acquire his services permanently in the summer for a fee of £20million.

Unai Emery has brought in Suarez in the hope of giving his team more of a threat from the flanks.

Wright has been very impressed by what he’s seen of the midfielder and believes his arrival will further boost Arsenal’s firepower.

“What I like about Suarez is he’s a capable and very good player,” he said on his Youtube channel.

“Unai knows him very well from their time at Sevilla and they won the Europa League together which is a good thing.

“I know he’s not played a lot for Barcelona, but he’s a player that the manager wants.

“When a manager wants you, that kind of gives you a lot of confidence.

“It’s what he wants, so you’re hoping that him playing in midfield, and he can play on the wing, diminutive, good skills, you’re hoping that he can come and make a difference in respect of creativity for us.

“Because that’s what we need.

“Because at the moment you feel if you can keep [Alexandre] Lacazette or [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang quiet, then I’m not sure where our goals are coming from.”

Suarez’s move to the Emirates has seen him reunited with Emery, who managed him during his loan spell with Sevilla.

The Spain international enjoyed one of his best seasons under his fellow countryman and ‘pushed’ to join him in north London once he learned of his interest in signing him.

“I’m very pleased to be here and to be joining Arsenal,” Suarez said. “I’ve been pushing hard to come here. I’m finally here now and I’m really pleased.”

On his reunion with Emery, Suarez said: “I have a very good relationship with him. I spent a year with him at Sevilla when we won the Europa League.

“I think he’s a very demanding coach and one of the best coaches in the world right now – I’ve been saying that for a while.

“I’m really happy to have the chance to work with him again and I hope that the rest of the season is successful for me and the club.

Suarez, 25, could make his Arsenal debut this afternoon when they travel to the Etihad to take on defender champions Manchester City.
