Tottenham will be looking to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool when they welcome Newcastle to London this afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will go within four points of Jurgen Klopp’s title favourites if they beat the Magpies at Wembley.
And they go into the clash off the back of a stirring 2-1 win over Watford, with Son Heung-min and Fernando Llorente’s goals cancelling out Craig Cathcart’s strike.
Tottenham came out on top when they faced Newcastle at St James’ Park in August, with Jan Verthonghen and Dele Alli on the scoresheet.
However, Newcastle have reason to be optimistic given their last result was a 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City.
Salomon Rondon and Matt Ritchie struck on Tuesday night to stun Pep Guardiola’s City on their visit to the north east.
And Rafa Benitez will be hoping for more of the same as Newcastle look to pull further clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
Newcastle will not have to deal with Tottenham hotshot Harry Kane, with the striker out of action due to an ankle injury.
