The Walking Dead season nine is currently on a mid-season break, and fans are desperate for the show to return.
The AMC show is set to return on February 10, and viewers will be properly introduced to The Whisperers.
They are a group of survivors who wear the skins of zombies they have dispatched to blend in, and it also allows them to sneak up on their victims.
They are led by a woman who goes by the name of Alpha (played by Samantha Morton) and The Walking Dead’s Eleanor Matsuura, who plays Yumiko in the series, spoke of how terrifying the leader of The Whisperers will be.
Speaking to press, including Express.co.uk, Eleanor spoke of Samantha’s character Alpha and how scary she’ll be on the show.
“I think that the fans are going to so so excited and thrilled by the Whisperers because they are a really new and different threat, and they are really scary,” she revealed.
“They are actually an incredibly frightening enemy which I think is an extraordinary thing to have on a show that already has a lot of sex, and horror and gore.
“At the moment there’s so much mystery about them, you know, you haven’t learnt what they are really yet, and that mystery is also terrifying because you don’t know what they’re capable of.
“But I know some things having worked with the actors.
“You’ve got some extraordinary actors on board. People like Samantha Morton, I mean she’s just the most extraordinary actress.
Eleanor then promised that Samantha’s Alpha is going to “blow your mind”.
“I really think that the fans will not be disappointed with The Whisperers.
The Yumiko star then finished off by promising fans that The Whisperers are going to be “terrifying”.
Yumiko is a new addition to the show, and not much is known about the character.
She’s been described as a fearless warrior and has already known how capable she is with a bow and arrow.
She’s very loyal to her girlfriend, Magna (Nadia Hilker) who’s also the leader of their group of survivors.
The group consider themselves to be a family and Yumiko is seen as their mother figure.
Rumiko’s first appearance was in What Comes After as they were taking on a herd of walkers, and they narrowly manage to escape.
They then happen across Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming), and she ends up leaving them to her own group of survivors: Rosita (Christian Serratos), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Laura (Lindsley Register).
The Walking Dead returns February 10 on AMC. Seasons 1-8 are available to stream on NOW TV.
