Huawei Mate 20 Pro – One of this phone's best features could be eclipsed by the Xperia XZ4

Huawei Mate 20 Pro released back in October and was critically acclaimed for its legion of flagship features.

The Chinese handset comes with a huge 6.39-inch display that houses its fingerprint sensor, a fast processor and a laudable triple-camera system.

However, one of the phone’s best features is certainly its 4,200mAh battery that easily lasted us an entire day of heavy usage, as Express.co.uk noted in our full review.

We said: “Put simply, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro offers the longest battery life we have seen in a smartphone this year and the Chinese manufacturer should be heavily commended for delivering such accomplished life.

“The grand 4,200mAh battery housed inside the phone is gargantuan, allowing us to ease through a day of intense usage.

“After spending two hours consuming streamed YouTube content in HD quality, over an hour on WhatsApp and another five hours on other applications, we still finished the day with 30 percent battery left.”

The Mate 20 Pro currently has the largest battery offered inside a flagship smartphone.

However, it appears the Chinese OEM’s device could soon be overtaken by the Sony Xperia XZ4 later this month.

The Xperia XZ4 is the presumed name given to the Xperia XZ3’s successor.

Sony’s new flagship is expected to be unveiled during its MWC keynote that is taking place on Monday, February 25, at 7.30am GMT.

Ahead of its anticipated debut, a claimed spec sheet for the product has emerged and insisted it will boast a huge 4,400mAh pack inside.

The document discussing the phone’s claimed internals recently appeared on Weibo and was spotted by Sumahoinfo.

If the battery size discussed is accurate, it would mean the Xperia XZ4 would overtake the Mate 20 Pro in terms of sheer capacity.

Other important specs discussed on the Xperia XZ4 included the housing of a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM and a 6.5-inch OLED display.

Most notably, the phone’s panel was said to have a somewhat unique aspect ratio of 21:9, meaning it could be taller than that offered on its rivals.

Moreover, the XZ4 was said to be available in black, silver, blue and purple variants.

While the leak suggests the new flagship will surpass the Mate 20 Pro in a vital area, the accuracy of the leak has not been discussed by Sony.
