Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez were bombarded with congratulatory posts after announcing they were were expecting their first child this morning. The couple, who met thanks to Strictly Come Dancing, shared an adorable and identical picture on their respective Instagram and Twitter pages with the happy news. The actress, 34, captioned hers: “And what amazing big brothers they will be! Myself & Gorks are beyond excited and happy and feel incredibly blessed to be meeting our new family member later this year. “Baby Marquez!!! We love you loads already @gorka_marquez.”
Meanwhile, the professional dancer continued: “@glouiseatkinson Thank you for the greatest gift in life.
“Myself and Gem are beyond thrilled to be welcoming our new family member later this year! Baby Marquez. Norm and Ollie can’t wait to start their big brother duties.”
Their two pet pooches were seen wearing signs around their necks, which read: “Guess what… mum’s pregnant!” and: “We’re going to be big brothers!”
They were soon inundated with comments from the stars of Strictly, with Katie Piper being one of the first to respond.
The author, who danced with Gorka in the latest series of the BBC programme, said: “Such lovely news! Big congrats to you both x.”
Fellow pro Katya Jones wrote: “Congratulations!!!! This is so exciting!!!!” while Lauren Steadman gushed: “Congratulations Gem!”
Alongside a lot of emojis, Aston Merrygold commented: “Amazing news Gem. So happy for you both!!”
Before telling Gorka: “Broooooooo!!! Amazing news!! So happy for your both.”(sic)
Charlotte Hawkins, who performed on Strictly in 2017 with Gemma, stated: “Ahh such fabulous news – congratulations!! Lots of love xxx.”
Pro Karen Clifton also posted in shock: “Omg!! Congratulations!! So happy for your both!!”(sic)
Meanwhile, the likes of Holly Willoughby, Dancing On Ice’s Gemma Collins and her former soap colleagues also replied.
