Captain Marvel: BIG link to Avengers Infinity War end credits scene in new teaser footage

In last year’s all-star blockbuster, Marvel fans were treated to a short coda in which Nick Fury – before turning to dust, thanks to Thanos – took out a mysterious pager and sent an emergency transmission. And when Captain Marvel’s recognisable symbol and colours popped up on its screen, fans knew exactly who he was reaching out to.

That all indicated strongly that Carol Danvers would play a key part in the follow-up, Avengers: Endgame, but we still have the backstory to explore in the Captain Marvel solo movie.

The latter is out in March, and a new Russian-language TV spot gives the biggest glimpse yet at the pager, which was previously seen fleetingly in initial teasers.

How the dots will be connected with the events at the end of Infinity War remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a hugely exciting new glimpse of what is to come from the big-budget movie.

Captain Marvel’s smaller screenings have already begun for private audiences, and the early reactions have begun emerging online.

Amid the positive feedback was word that Carol’s cat – called Goose in the movie – steals the show.

Collider’s Steven Weintraub tweeted: Hearing #CaptainMarvel screened. After it ended everyone was talking about the cat. Stole the show.

“Must. See. This. Movie. Stat.”

Speaking last year, Larson teased Carol as one of Marvel’s most exciting characters to date.

“You have this Kree part of her that’s unemotional, that is an amazing fighter and competitive,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“Then there’s this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by.

“It’s the thing that gets her in trouble, but it’s also the thing that makes her great. And those two sides warring against each other is what makes her her.”

Captain Marvel is out on March 8.
