Switch games news: Zelda Breath of the Wild sequel CONFIRMED ahead of Nintendo Direct

Nintendo Switch fans have been treated to some fantastic games news ahead of the rumoured Direct conference.

The next Legend of Zelda game has been confirmed by Nintendo, who are hiring more staff for the project.

With production ramping up on the potential Breath of the Wild sequel, Nintendo has posted a new Legend of Zelda job advert.

The Japanese job advert (via Gamingbolt), is for a 3D terrain designer on the new game.

A previous advert called for somebody with experience in creating consumer games, which suggests the new release is for consoles.

It’s possible the next Zelda game will serve as a sequel to Breath of the Wild, although it’s more likely to be a brand new entry.

Zelda director Hidemaro Fujibayashi previously said that concepts and ideas are being gathered for the next Zelda game.

There’s a slim chance the new Zelda game could be unveiled during the rumoured January Nintendo Direct conference.

Other rumours suggest that the Nintendo Switch will get a Skyward Sword port, or a Link’s Awakening remake.

The January Nintendo Direct conference could also shed some light on the new Fire Emblem game, Animal Crossing Switch, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and the Gen 8 Pokemon title.

Bayonetta 3 could also make an appearance, perhaps alongside a Persona 5 port.

Nintendo is also rumoured to be working on a new Mario Maker title, as well as Super Mario Odyssey DLC.

Elsewhere, the company will almost certainly reveal new DLC characters for Super Smash Bros.
