Man Utd willing to pay £90m to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in the summer

Manchester United have emerged as suitors for Sancho, who has been in electric form for Borussia Dortmund this season.

The England international has starred alongside Pacelo Alcacer and Marco Reus in attack this year, sparking talk that he could be on the move.

Manchester United are primed to overhaul their squad at the end of the season, regardless of whether or not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keeps the job for the long-term.

And the Metro claim the Red Devils are willing to spend big on Sancho amid his Borussia Dortmund form.

The club have decided they need a right winger. Back in the summer, Jose Mourinho was sure United needed another forward to provide balance to his attack.

Willian, in his eyes, was the chosen one.

But United deemed him too costly at the age of 29 and, instead, chose not to strengthen that area.

Now, however, the Red Devils believe they must sign a ‘natural’ right winger.

And Sancho has been earmarked as a target, with the 18-year-old’s blockbuster form endearing him to suitors.

The Metro claim he would be interested in moving back to the Premier League, having left Manchester City in 2017.

But City, despite having a buy-back option, are not likely to re-sign him.

Speaking back in October, City boss Pep Guardiola praised the United target.

But he also admitted that his presence could prevent the club from rivalling Europe’s elite for Sancho.

“I don’t know,” he said when asked if the player would return.

“In football you never say no, but I don’t know.

“I think when he decided to move on from here it is because he doesn’t want to be here.

“When he doesn’t want to be here I think he’s not looking forward to coming back here. That is what I think right now.

“Maybe in the future – new club, new managers – but I don’t know.

“We know what we have done with Jadon. We did absolutely everything and he decided to move on to Germany so all the best.

“He’s doing really well. He’s started his career and hopefully he can achieve what he was looking for.

“It’s a good sign for England that players are going there because it’s important for the future. I’m glad he’s playing well.”
