Fred and Rose West: Trevor McDonald documentary CANCELLED – Here’s why

The latest documentary with British-Trinidadian newsreader Trevor, 79, was set to be a highlight on tonight’s schedule for ITV.

But in a completely unexpected turn of events, ITV bosses suddenly pulled the feature, posting a last-minute explanation on their Twitter page.

A tweet shared with their 2.2 million followers read: “Tonight’s advertised documentary has been postponed for legal reasons and the film will be scheduled for a later date.

“Instead another chance to watch Death Row with Trevor McDonald.”

Unfortunately, many viewers were left frustrated with the late notice, and took to Twitter to share their disappointment.

One person wrote: “I don’t care how weird I sound right now, but I’m proper gutted the #TrevorMcDonald Fred and Rose West doc isn’t on. Where’s my Trev digging into the inner workings of serial killers s**t?”

“Only been sat waiting for three hours to watch Fred and Rose and he’s on death row instead #trevormcdonald,” another complained.

A third asked: “@ITV what has happened to the #TrevorMcDonald report on #FredWest and #RoseWest – as advertised!? We seem to have an American rerun!?”

While a fourth demanded: “@ITV why are you repeating programmes originally aired a year ago?? #trevormcdonald #deathrow isn’t that what catch up is for?? #lazyprogramming.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative at ITV for comment.
