Anthony Martial’s agency leak Man Utd contract news BEFORE club have announced it

Martial was out of contract this summer and there had been plenty of speculation around his future last summer.

Chelsea and Juventus had both been credited with interest in the Frenchman, who struggled under Jose Mourinho.

However Mourinho was sacked last month and Martial’s form has improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And now his agency, USFA Management, have confirmed on Instagram that the attacking winger has signed a new deal.

The Instagram showed Martial with Solskjaer before a post of a shirt.

The shirt had Martial, his squad number 11 as well as 2024.

That means he has signed a five-year contract extension, keeping him at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.

Express Sport understands Martial finalised a new deal yesterday and has received a significant pay rise.

Manchester United acquired Martial’s services from Monaco on the final day of the 2015 summer transfer window for a fee of £36million pounds, which has the potential to rise to £58m.

He has made 161 appearances for United since his big-money move, scoring 46 goals and picking up 27 assists.

The forward missed United’s last outing, a 2-2 draw with Burnley, due to injury.

Caretaker manager Solskjaer isn’t expecting the knock to keep Martial for the sidelines too long and is hoping to have him back for Sunday’s trip to Leicester.

“He got a slight injury in training but hopefully he’ll be back for next weekend,” Solskjaer said.

“There was no chance he could play today so it was easy enough to put Romelu [Lukaku] on the pitch.”

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to leave the club today as he moves to China.

And some fans see it as the perfect deadline day.

One tweeted: “Anthony Martial stays put while Fellaini moves on. Now THAT is the direction #MUFC would have hoped for!”

“Thank f**k he’s going, one of the least technical footballers I’ve seen at United. Awful player,” were the thoughts of another supporter.

And a third posted“Fellaini did nothing good for us, was immobile, had passing range of baby with no football brain. Can’t blame him though Moyes thought he was good enough.”
