AJ Pritchard: Strictly star ‘bickering’ with Lauren Steadman after her strict advice

AJ Pritchard, 24, and Lauren Steadman, 26, built up a close relationship whilst competing on Strictly Come Dancing last year.

The pair both joked they were a “married couple” on the BBC One show and it seems not much has changed.

AJ and Lauren admitted they haven’t stopped “bickering” since they got back together to perform on the tour.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour launch, she spilled about their relationship and said: “We don’t really argue, it’s more bickering.”

Giving an example, AJ revealed they have been “bickering” due to her strict advice she has offered to help him get in shape.

Divulging details, he said: “She makes sure I don’t have too many desserts, makes sure I’m cutting the sugar out of my tea.

“She’s trying to keep me healthy…”

Lauren interrupted: “You wanted to look lean and fit so I was helping!”

AJ also said he is planning on visiting Lauren whilst she’s away training in Lanzarote this summer.

The professional dancer revealed he will always “support” the Paralympian during her competitions.

“I will support Lauren,” he spilled.

“Great thing is, she’s training in Lanzarote for eight weeks so I thought I can fit a holiday in there.”

AJ quickly added: “I’m not going to train with her though! It will be relaxing.”

Elsewhere, AJ will will be embarking on his own tour, Get On The Floor, from March.

The star has revealed the shows will “break boundaries”.

AJ said the tour will include all-male routines, which differs to Strictly Come Dancing.

He told the Mail Online: “With dance you definitely want to see a classic Waltz, for example, with a male and female. It’s traditional.

“But we will be doing a guys’ section. Because it’s not about gender. It’s about movement to music.”

He continued: “And it’s very powerful to see two guys creating a strong impact doing a Stomp The Yard-type routine. It’s about creating art on a floor.

“Sometimes it’s more powerful to see that than watching a guy and a girl dance.”
