09.30 UPDATE: Arsenal latest

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has delivered a transfer update that NO Arsenal fan will want to hear.

He told the Transfer Talk podcast: “We can safely say Arsenal are interested in both Perisic and Suarez but the likelihood is they will get one or the other before Thursday night, or neither.

“Emery, in his news conference, was asked about Perisic and Suarez and he never gives anything away in regards to transfers.

“He kind of defers it to the transfer committee at Arsenal but he doesn’t deny either.”

08.55 UPDATE: Pogba offers himself to Real Madrid

Paul Pogba has offered himself to Real Madrid despite his improvement under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to massive reports in Spain.

Manchester United star Pogba was linked with Real Madrid before Solskjaer took the job, amid his struggles under Jose Mourinho.

But the World Cup winner has looked happy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has been revitalised on the pitch.

However, Spanish outlet Ok Diario have sensationally claimed that Pogba has ‘offered himself’ to Real Madrid.

08.40 UPDATE: Tottenham in Real Betis talks

Tottenham are in transfer talks with Real Betis – but it’s not to sign a new star.

Instead, Spurs are ready to send flop striker Vincent Janssen to Spain.

Janssen has never really made the grade at Spurs after joining from AZ Alkmaar for £17m in 2016.

He spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and a move to Spain before Thursday’s transfer deadline now looks inevitable.

Ernesto Valverde has suggested the deal to take Denis Suarez to Arsenal is imminent.

The Barca boss was asked if Suarez was heading to England, and he essentially confirmed the move.

“I know Denis was in this situation. It’s not official yet and we have to wait a little,” Valverde said.

“It was a possibility that everyone valued, and we hope that things go well.”

07.45 UPDATE: Arsenal Perisic blow

Arsenal have been told to forget about signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.

“Perisic wants to go abroad, but there are no suitable offers,” Inter chief Ausilio said.

“If he does remain, I expect the same professionalism from him as always.

“We intend to get him back on track and it shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t think it’ll take very long.

“I can say the Inter transfer market is closed.”

07.30 UPDATE: Chelsea want Christensen fee

Chelsea will only allow Andreas Christensen to leave the club this week if they get a £6m loan fee.

Christensen is unhappy at his lack of game-time at Chelsea and wants to move on.

Christensen has angered Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri after leaving the bench before the end of the defeat to Arsenal for a toilet break.

And now The Sun claim the 22-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge temporarily.

07.15 UPDATE: Arsenal set to sign Suarez

Denis Suarez is poised to become Arsenal’s first January signing after they agreed a deal with Barcelona.

The Gunners will pay an initial loan fee of around £2.2m for the attacking midfielder, 25, who worked with Gunners boss Unai Emery at Seville.

And they will have an option to make the move for the former Manchester City youngster, who can also play on both flanks, permanent in the summer for around £20m.

Suarez’s decision to extend his Barcelona contract, which was due to expire in 2020, until 2021 to help protect his value was a key breakthrough in talks.

Barcelona did not want him going on loan and returning to the Nou Camp in the summer with just one year left on his contract.

And Arsenal managed to persuade Barcelona to accept just an option to buy when the Catalan side were initially insisting on a compulsory obligation.

07.00 UPDATE: Newcastle close to record deal

Newcastle are on the verge of breaking their 14-year-old transfer record with a £17million swoop for Atlanta United’s Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguay international, who helped his club win the MLS title last season, is flying into Tyneside tonight to discuss personal terms and have a medical after the two clubs agreed a fee.

He is set to become the costliest player in Newcastle’s history, beating the £16m the club paid Real Madrid for Michael Owen in 2005.

Newcastle are also closing in on a deal to sign Benifica midfielder Andreas Samaris on loan for the rest of the season.

And there could be a third new recruit with Monaco left-back Antonio Barreca understood to be Newcastle-bound.

Barreca was on the Toon’s hitlist this month but interest cooled when the club moved in for Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku.

However when the Belgium defender’s move collapsed last Friday, Newcastle got back in touch with Barreca’s representatives to revive the deal.

06.45 UPDATE: Fellaini set to leave United

Marouane Fellaini is on his way out of Manchester United and heading to the Chinese Super League in a deal worth £10million-a-year.

Shandong Luneng have offered Fellaini a lucrative deal worth £200,000 a week, which will bring an end to his five-and-a-half year spell at United.

Fellaini is out of favour under United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, having played just 31 minutes since the Norwegian took over from Jose Mourinho.

A delegation from Shandong Luneng travelled to Manchester to finalise a deal with United, with the fee for the 31-year-old understood to be about £7m.

06.30 UPDATE: Chelsea want more deals

Maurizio Sarri is keen to get one more deal done at Chelsea before the January transfer window shuts.

Sarri wanted two players in this month and has only managed to sign Gonzalo Higuain, with Christian Pulisic signing but going back to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

“You know my opinion,” Sarri said.

“I thought it was important to have two players. One has arrived, I am waiting for another. If he arrives I will be very happy, but I won’t be too worried. I am happy to play with these players.”
