PS Plus February 2019: Great PlayStation Plus news ahead of PS4 free games reveal

PS Plus subscribers are just hours away from finding out what new games will be added to the digital library in February.

So far there have been no leaks or hints to what could be made available on the first Tuesday of next month.

The usual predictions have been made, with fans hoping to see more first-party titles added to the official PlayStation Plus lineup.

Steep and Portal Knights are the current free PS4 games that can be downloaded and played as part of the PS Plus roster for January.

However, since January included so many top titles, fans are hoping for a return to AAA games next month.

The announcement is expected to be made later today, probably at around 4:30pm, GMT.

This will include a full reveal of all the new PS4 games, as well as the final PS3 and PS Vita being launched by Sony.

For those that don’t know, this will be the last month to feature games for the older systems, with March and beyond focusing solely on PS4 titles.

And while that may come as bad news to some PS Plus subscribers, Sony has announced a new freebie that could prove useful to some.

PS Plus owners can currently take advantage of a new discount currently available as part of the PSN Store.

This includes 10% off a monthly Spotify Premium subscription and is available to be redeemed right now.

This deal is currently available in the UK but must be redeemed before March 31, 2019.

The other good news is that a new PS Plus sale is currently underway.

The PS Plus Specials event includes a select range of PS4 games and will be available until February 5.

This sale is only open to PlayStation Plus subscribers and also includes discounts on PlayStation VR games.

There are a lot of games to choose from, including Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 and Wipeout Omega Collection.

As mentioned above, the new PS Plus games for February will be announced today but won’t be available to download until next week.

Which means Steep and Portal Knights on PS4 and Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Amplitude on PS3 can be added to digital libraries right now.

PS Vita fans have the choice of Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion, which is also a crossplay title with PS4.

The final PS Vita game available to download until the end of the month is Super Mutant Alien Assault.

It should be noted that the content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription at no charge is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.

The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.

Anything you have purchased (even if you bought it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.

Also, different countries have different rights, release schedules and, have different things available on their PlayStation Store for this reason.

So this is why you may hear about different games being available in Asia, Europe and North America when it comes to some PS Plus announcements.
