Emmerdale cast: Maya Stepney star Louisa Clein hits out at MAJOR error ‘It's not mine’

Louisa Clein, who has played Emmerdale’s Maya Stepney since last year, hit out in view of her 5,582 Instagram followers. The actress pointed out a major error in her Wikipedia entry, telling people to not believe everything you read. The 40-year-old’s issue arose after her supposed real name was stated, but she was having none of it. She shared a screenshot of the website, ringing the mistake in red with two exclamation marks.

The sentence on the page read: “Louisa Miranda Clain aka Lilly Roberts (born c.1979 in Poole, Dorset) is an English actress.”

Louisa captioned it: “Lily Roberts??!!!! It’s a lovely name but it’s not mine and it never has been.”(sic)

She continued: “I’ve been called MANY things in my little life but this one is news to me!”

The Yorkshire Dales regular went on to include the hashtag: “#dontbelieveeverythingyouread.”

Co-star Charley Webb, who portrays Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, replied and told her she totally understood.

The 30-year-old wrote: “Everything on mine is wrong. Absolutely everything.”

Meanwhile, Louisa also received a whole host of other comments, with one user informing: “You can edit this if you’re logged in I believe.”

Two others continued: “Don’t you just love learning something new about yourself xxx,” and: “It doesn’t show Lilly Roberts now, so must have been edited out, Louisa :).”

A fourth went on to reference another of her uploads, which saw her tell people not to waste their money.

The comment read: “First ebay now this… what’s next.”

It comes after she slammed an autograph discovery last week, branding it “rude”.

She once again shared a screenshot of a picture of herself, complete with her autograph and “love Maya” written on it.

The star revealed her shock and outrage in the caption, saying the seller was “just rude”.

She said fans could get the exact same for free, with the item already having received 10 bids with a price of £26 plus postage.

Louisa, whose character is currently involved in a central storyline in the long-running show, added: “You can get this for free if you write to Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
