Doctor Who: Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole’s favourite episodes of Doctor Who REVEALED

Doctor Who season 11, starring Jodie Whittaker, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, is now out on DVD, allowing Whovians to revisit their favourite episodes of series 11 while fans wait for the next series, which is due in 2020 on BBC One. Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill spoke to Express.co.uk exclusively from South Africa, where they are filming the upcoming season of Doctor Who. Cole and Gill, who play companions Ryan Sinclair and Yasmin Khan in the Doctor Who, revealed their favourite episodes of Doctor Who season 11 and some favourite moments from filming the series.

Like a lot of fans, both Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill chose season 11, episode three, Rosa, as their favourite episode of the previous series.

Gill also picked episode six, Demons of the Punjab, as a personal favourite.

“I would have to say Rosa and Demons of the Punjab because the storylines were related to me!” Gill said.

“I really enjoyed Vinette Robinson as Rosa Parks and I thought it looked absolutely beautiful.

WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SEASON OF DOCTOR WHO?

“I like dramas about historical events, I find it more relatable, but they have that edge of sci-fi in them.”

Doctor Who fans were also in agreement Rosa was their favourite episode of Doctor Who season 11.

In a Radio Times poll of over 9000 fans, Rosa was voted the best episode of the series by 31 percent.

Although Cole admitted he hates watching himself on TV, he said Rosa was the most fun to film.

WILL JODIE WHITTAKER RETURN TO DOCTOR WHO?

Cole said of Rosa: “It’s something that I learned about in school.

“Ryan gets to meet Martin Luther King (played by Ray Sesay) and Rosa Parks and I really felt like I was right in the middle of history.”

Another episode Ryan said he particularly enjoyed filming was episode two, The Ghost Monument.

However, he admitted filming the episode was the most bizarre thing he had ever experienced as an actor.

WHERE WAS DOCTOR WHO SEASON 11 FILMED?

He said: “I never knew what kind of monster I was looking at!

“I just stopped the take and asked, ‘what are we actually looking at?’

“And they showed me a picture of what they had planned for the creature to look like and I was like, ‘alright, cool, I did not expect the creature to look like that at all.’”

These creatures were the Remnants, sentient cloth-like creatures who suffocated their victims.
